We have a great opportunity to join the front-line operations team in our Hastings Depot as a Dispatcher.

The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

You will work as part of a great team to ensure our operational and service delivery KPIs are achieved - so the ideal candidate will need to be operationally focused, highly organised, and have a great customer service approach.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Depot Manager to manage and maintain the smooth and punctual operation of the depot services by dispatching buses on all routes within the contract areas in the time required and ensuring that sufficient drivers are available.
  • Ensure that service delivery is met daily, and that all SOPs are followed whilst ensuring high standards of quality and safety compliance.
  • Support with overseeing the day-to-day needs of the drivers, including wellbeing/ welfare and maintaining performance standards and training needs.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders as required efficiently responding to escalations, incidents and complaints as well as maintenance requirements.
  • Performing depot/dispatch administrative work to a high standard.
  • Covering Urban, School, SESTA and Charter driving duties as needed.
  • Working with the team to carry out yard duties as required.
  • Some on-call weekends may be required from time to time

To be successful you must have:

  • Current Class 1 Licence (assistance available to obtain a Class 2 License & P Endorsement)
  • NCEA level 2 or higher
  • Supervisory & Leadership experience
  • Experience in the Transport Industry would be highly beneficial
