    We have a vital Duty person/Driver position available at our Queenstown depot. This is a rare opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a hands on role, who has got a mechanical mind, flexibility and with the ability to think outside the box. Building close relationships with our staff and external customers is important.

    The role is part time with a min of 30 hours a week during the school term and a min of 10 hours a week during the school holidays. Further hours can be available with charter work or other duties as required.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Cover a permanent school bus run in the Queenstown region.
    • Maintain a good relationship with our contracted workshop to schedule required work and have these completed on time.
    • Proactively schedule and complete mechanical requirements for all depot vehicles (e.g. warrant of fitness, certificate of fitness, registration and ensuring road user charges are current).
    • Maintenance of fleet interior/exterior condition.
    • Yard/grounds maintenance.
    • Promoting H&S in the workplace.
    • Assist the Operations Supervisor with accident and complaint investigation & resolution.
    • Administration duties as required.
    • Other tasks as required by business including weekend work, on-call availability, driving (MoE, Charter and Park and Ride services).

    To be successful you must have:

    • Current Class 2 Licence & P Endorsement
    • Class 4 Licence or willingness to obtain a Class 4 licence within 3 months of employment.
    • Excellent communication and team player
    • Ability to build and develop key relations
    • Positive attitude, intuitive & attention to detail
    • Computer literate, problem solving & ability to think on your feet

    Preferred skills:

    • Supervisory & Leadership experience
